FirstBank posed as “vet techs in training” at several different animal hospitals throughout the state – including Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Fox Hollow Animal Hospital, and MaxFund Wellness Center – to surprise more than 120 families, and their four legged companions, by paying their entire vet bill.

In total, FirstBank covered over $40,000 in medical services, ranging from $75 to upwards of $3,700, helping animals like Riggins and Boris, who both underwent ACL repairs, and Jasper, a beagle mix who had surgery to remove a stomach tumor.

The goal was to encourage goodwill and inspire lucky recipients to “give it forward” to their favorite charity on Colorado Gives Day (Dec. 10), a 24 hour online giving movement that supports over 2,500 charities.

FirstBank has done its “Give It Forward” campaign to encourage donations since 2014. Last year, FirstBank posed as servers and paid for hundreds of diners. In 2017, they pumped free fuel for commuters. The year prior, FirstBank officers went undercover as grocery baggers and surprised shoppers.

Colorado Gives Day, presented Community First Foundation and FirstBank, raised over $35 million for over 2,500 nonprofits last year. The bank has been the presenting partner of Colorado Gives Day since its inception in 2010, helping the program raise more than $217 million, in total, for charities statewide. • I got to say, FirstBank, that’s very nice of you for doing that! spreading the word about the bank’s brand in a positive manner. I’m glad that I’m working for the company! Do we have a department relating to video production? I didn’t know that we have a YouTube channel.
