“Access to healthcare for anyone is essential. Have a cultural competence safe place for people to come and get healthcare is extremely important.”

In our fifth installment of the Colorado Gives Day Nonprofit video series, we happily present Clínica Tepeyac.

Clínica’s mission is simple, to provide culturally competent healthcare and preventative health services to the medically underserved. They serve the whole community, providing quality medical care to patients regardless of income status or insurance coverage. Additionally, Clínica provides services in English and in Spanish, and can offer interpretation/translation assistance, among other auxiliary aids (visual or hearing) upon request.

When Clínica started in 1993, their goal was to break down the barriers of healthcare, such as language, cost, and available services. It didn’t take long to figure out that access to healthcare was an issue that impacted too many residents in the Denver area. After a decade and a half of expansion, the nonprofit was finally able to achieve its Federally Qualified Health Center designation, and continue to inspire health, wellbeing, and humanity in our community, through all of life’s stage.

There are a number of ways to get involved with Clínica Tepeyac. Aside from financial donations and business sponsorships, the nonprofit relies on the help of its volunteers. If you have the time and urge to give back to this worthy cause, they welcome volunteers in just about every form: administration, healthcare professionals, nurses, outreach efforts, bilingual management instructors, even cleaning and landscaping.
