“90 percent of people with Autism are either unemployed, or underemployed. It’s not because they can’t, or don’t have the skills, or they don’t want to. It’s because our world isn’t set up for them to be able to work yet.”

In our fourth installment of the Colorado Gives Day Nonprofit video series, we’re happy to present Dirt Coffee Bar.

Founded with the idea that people with differences deserve better, Dirt’s mobile coffee truck hit the streets in 2013 on a mission to change minds and lives, one cup of coffee at a time. Since its inception, Dirt has trained and employed more than 100 individuals with neurodiversities, while providing over $40,000 in scholarships to families in need and their caregivers. Dirt Coffee Bar goes further to cultivate a culture of acceptance, inclusion, and opportunity while empowering others to do the same.

Aside from their mobile coffee truck, Dirt has a permanent location in Littleton, Colo. (5767 S. Rapp Street). Follow this link to find out how you can get involved with this amazing organization, and see for yourself why they believe that, “what’s in the cup is great, but what’s beyond the cup is life changing.”
