Grow more than your money.

FirstBank is serious about making a positive impact on the environment. Last year, we launched the “Go Green” campaign, which resulted in a $60,000 donation to Project Apis m., Western Resource Advocates and One Tree Planted. Since 2021, in partnership with One Tree Planted, FirstBank has planted 110,000+ trees across Colorado, Arizona, and California.

FAQ

Q: Why are we doing this campaign? Why not just donate the funds directly to these nonprofits?

  • This gives us an opportunity to put a powerful spotlight on important environmental causes, while also aligning with our mission and vision of “banking for good.”
  • We know there are also growing concerns around the health and vitality of our planet. This campaign enables our customers to help us make a positive impact.

Q: Why did we select these nonprofits (Project Apis m., Western Resource Advocates and One Tree Planted)?

  • We go through a rigorous vetting process to identify nonprofit partners, ensure they’re in good standing and operate across multiple FirstBank service areas in Colorado, Arizona and California.
  • We selected these three nonprofits because they are extremely reputable organizations, in good standing, and they are impact and action-oriented. They can easily show how our donations are able to advance their mission.

Q: Why did we select these causes? Why not include more causes beyond environmental/green causes?

  • Throughout the decades, we’ve supported a lot of causes outside of environmental/green initiatives. But we feel it’s important to expand our support and promote organizations that advance the health and vitality of our planet.
  • Saving bees, conserving water and planting trees are some of the most impactful planet-friendly measures we can support as a company.
  • Furthermore, FirstBank has provided an innumerable amount of time, talent, resources and funding to hundreds of nonprofits over the years. Since 2000, we’ve donated over $92 million to organizations across human services, education, affordable housing, economic development and more. Our partnership with Colorado Gives Day, Arizona Gives Day, and Coachella Valley Giving Day, has collectively raised over $500 million for thousands of charities.

Q: I don’t believe in these causes and don’t want my money going to support them.

  • The donations are not from customers like yourself (FirstBank allocates that funding out of our own budget). There are no additional fees to cover the donations. If you’d rather open the account to participate in the $500 or e-bike giveaway, that’s okay.

Q: How can I win the $500 or the e-bike? When will I be notified if I’ve won?

  • In order to qualify, participants must open a FirstBank consumer checking account during the promotional period (June 1 – August 30) and make a deposit of at least $1.00 by August 30.
  • Winners will be selected at random when the campaign ends.
  • One entry per person during the promotional period.
  • Employees and their immediate family members are not eligible.
  • You can find the official rules and an alternate way to enter by visiting efirstbank.com/green.
