During one of the most challenging times a family can face, it’s often the smallest acts that help carry the weight. See how FirstBank set out to make an impact by supporting this Northern Colorado family through an “Act of Goodness.”

Meet the Greenlaws.

When FirstBank customers Andy and Whitney Greenlaw’s 12-year-old daughter underwent double transplant surgery, their world turned upside down. The Fort Collins family suddenly faced frequent trips to Children’s Hospital in Aurora, CO, splitting time between home, the hospital, and hotels, all while trying to maintain normalcy for their youngest daughter.

The surprise.

Recognizing their incredible balancing act, Antonio Barrios, Northern Colorado Personal Banker, wanted to honor them with an “Act of Goodness.” With the help of FirstBank, Antonio and his team surprised the Greenlaws with gift cards for restaurants and groceries, backpacks filled with activities and plushies for the girls, and a $1,500 cash deposit to help with medical expenses.

“Andy and his family are among the most inspiring people I’ve met. They’ve faced unimaginable adversities, yet they maintain a contagiously positive outlook on life,” said Antonio. “I’m grateful to work for a company like FirstBank, which empowers me to recognize customers in need through a simple “Act of Goodness.” It shows that even the smallest acts can create ripples of change.”

At FirstBank, we believe that goodness matters, and stories like this remind us to go above and beyond for the communities we serve.
