Employees at the FirstBank branch in Frisco recently surprised one longtime customer with $1,000 worth of gift cards and a FirstBank gift bag.

The customer, Josh Hooper, was recently involved in a fire that ripped through his home and resulted in multiple injuries. Fortunately, he was able to save himself and his beloved dog, Batman, but the incident required a costly hospital stay that left Josh struggling to pay his regular expenses.

After hearing about Josh’s accident and the resulting financial toll it inflicted, branch employees coordinated a surprise gift of one $800 Target gift card for grocery and household expenses, as well as a $200 Petco gift card for pet supplies for Batman. Josh was also presented with a gift bag of FirstBank goodies, dog toys, and a get-well card signed by everyone at the branch.

“We’re thrilled to be able to assist him and showcase how we really are banking for good by putting together this surprise.”

Josh was ecstatic about the gifts and left nearly speechless by the kindness of the branch team. “I don’t know what to say apart from, thank you. This is awesome,” he said.

Branch FirstBankers brought Josh’s story to FirstBank leadership, who jumped at the chance to help.

“Despite everything he’s had to endure, Josh always has a smile on his face and is willing to help out anyone that needs it,” said Branch Manager Alicia Fontana. “We’re thrilled to be able to assist him and showcase how we really are banking for good by putting together this surprise.”
