Recent hunger statistics show about one in eight Coloradans is food insecure, making food banks an essential lifeline for individuals and families in need.

That’s why FirstBank, longtime champion of “banking for good,” is giving back with a $50,000 donation to several local food banks, supporting communities across the state. The funds will assist organizations in the Denver metro area and beyond, including Food Bank of the Rockies, Weld Food Bank, Food Bank for Larimer County, Care and Share Food Bank, etc.

“This support will make a tangible difference for families who are struggling to put food on the table,” said Nicole Staudinger, FirstBank Northern Colorado Market President. “At FirstBank, giving back is part of who we are, and we’re grateful to partner with organizations that uplift our communities.”

This donation builds on FirstBank’s long-standing commitment to Colorado nonprofits. In fact, the bank partnered with the Colorado Gives Foundation in 2010 to create Colorado Gives Day. Since then, the online giving movement has raised over $500 million for local nonprofits, many of which are local food banks.

Giving, whether through monetary donations, food, or volunteer time, reminds us that when communities come together, they can make a real difference.
