September 15th marks the 10th anniversary of FirstBank’s mobile app! The year was 2013, and popular apps like Snapchat, Vine, and Candy Crush were taking over the world. As the banking realm followed suit, FirstBank joined the arena by launching the FirstBank Mobile App.

Today, the app offers more than just insight to account balances, products, and services. FirstBank has prioritized digital innovation and increased our tech capabilities to improve the banking experience. Here are 10 helpful tools to help you simplify and secure your banking.

Biometric Authentication

In a world full of passwords, FirstBank’s Mobile App allows you to use Fingerprint/FaceID® login to access your banking information. This technology alleviates the need to remember keywords and special characters without compromising security. Mobile Deposit

‘Mobile Deposit’ makes depositing checks as easy as taking a selfie. Simply select the deposit icon at the bottom of the screen, choose the account you’d like to deposit into, enter the dollar value of the check, and snap away. This in-app feature offers easy-to-follow steps to make the process as simple as possible. If you have any questions, stop by your local FirstBank branch and a representative can help walk you through it.  

QR codes for Zelle®

Zelle® is an easy way to send, request, and receive money between eligible bank accounts in the U.S. Within the FirstBank Mobile App, you can access a personalized ‘Zelle® QR code’ to send or receive money. This Quick Response (QR) code is a visual representation of your Zelle® profile, eliminating the possibility of mistyping an email address or mobile phone number.

Card Management

If you’ve ever lost or misplaced your debit or credit card, then you know how important it is to report it quickly. FirstBank’s ‘Card Management’ feature allows you to place a freeze, replace and report your debit or credit card all within the mobile app. For accounts with a debit or credit card, this feature can be found within the account summary, or by clicking on the three stacked lines (hamburger menu) in the top right corner of the home screen.

Security and Account Alerts

‘Security and Account Alerts’ are designed to notify you when a change is made to your personal information or account activity.  By enrolling, you can get same-day alerts when changes are made to your physical address, email address, phone number, password, and more. Moreover, ‘Account Alerts’ can help you stay ahead of your finances with deposit notifications, daily balance alerts, and more. 

To enroll for ‘Security and Account Alerts’:

  • Login to your Online Banking* profile via desktop or mobile app
    • When using the mobile app, click on the three stacked lines (hamburger menu) in the top right corner
    • When using the desktop, select the Online Banking tab
  • Go to Settings and click on ‘Alerts’
  • Turn on ‘Security Alerts’
  • Select ‘Account Alerts’ and customize your notifications

Search Transaction

‘Search Transactions’ is among many new widgets added to the mobile app. This function is found by going to the hamburger menu and lets you easily search for transactions across your FirstBank accounts by date, amount, check number, and type (credits, transfers, direct deposit, etc.).

What’s New

The ‘What’s New’ space details security updates and in-app enhancements. For example, a recent app update introduced new Zelle® Scam Prevention screens, enhanced Zelle® activity management, and more.

Digital Wallet

‘Digital Wallet’ allows you to make contactless payments by linking your FirstBank Visa Debit Card to Apple Pay®, Google Play™, or Samsung Pay®. Not only are contactless payments convenient but they are faster and safer than using cash or cards. Open an Account

The ability to learn more about FirstBank’s business and personal account offerings is linked within the mobile app. Additionally, new account applications are available to start the process at your convenience.

Find a location

The ‘Find a Location’ widget helps you sift through 100 FirstBank locations and narrow your search by hours, drive-up banking, stand-alone ATMs, and more. FirstBank recently joined the MoneyPass® ATM Network**, allowing access to over 37,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide.
