Sometimes we come across some truly amazing customers, who despite hard times or personal tragedies, try to positively impact those around them. We call these our “Good Customers,” and we’re setting out to make their day.

One special FirstBank customer, and Phoenix Suns superfan, got quite the surprise at the FirstBank branch on South Higley Road in Gilbert, AZ, this past May.

Meet Tayden and his Mom Jessica

Tayden is an energetic 9-year-old who loves playing basketball and watching his favorite NBA team, the Phoenix Suns. Unfortunately, Tayden is battling cancer and had to limit his physical activity due to numerous surgeries. His mom, Jessica, works hard to support Tayden and his two siblings, but they’ve struggled financially over the past year due to the pandemic. Despite the hardships Tayden, Jessica, and their family face, they continue to overcome obstacles with a positive attitude, which is why FirstBank set out to show them how much we admire their strength and resiliency.

Big Branch Surprise

Jessica arrived at the branch expecting to go over some routine paperwork. Instead, she was greeted with a round of applause from branch employees and surprised with several gifts from FirstBank.

With help from the Phoenix Suns, FirstBank provided Tayden with the ultimate Suns fan gift pack including, a jersey signed by Suns superstar Devin Booker, a signed basketball, and, to top it all off, a personal recorded appearance from Suns Forward Cam Johnson. Tayden also received a brand-new gaming console and a basketball video game, so he can continue to enjoy his favorite sport while in recovery.

In addition, FirstBank provided Jessica with a $200 gift card for a meal delivery service, along with a $1,000 grocery store voucher for groceries, prescriptions and other necessities. And finally, FirstBank presented a $2,000 check to Jessica to help with medical and other essential expenses.

We learned about Tayden and his family thanks to two FirstBank employees, Natalie and Anthony, and their commitment to do right by their customers. We’d like to give a special thanks to entire FirstBank branch team on South Higley Road for helping to make this a special day for Jessica and Tayden.
