February 9, 2024 FirstBank believes there’s unity in diversity. In February, we observe Black History Month by recognizing and celebrating some of FirstBank’s Black and African American employees. Today we’re featuring East Market Admin. Rep., Tracy Arthur Hometown: Brooklyn, NY Years at FirstBank: 4 years In 3 to 4 sentences, describe your experience in getting to where you are today. I have enjoyed a fulfilling career for the last 20 years whether it’s in administration, loan processing, underwriting or customer service. A huge part of that is having wonderful mentors who ensured a healthy work-life balance and allowed me to make time for myself and my family. How has FirstBank’s companywide philosophy of “banking for good” impacted your life and your career? I appreciate working for a company like FirstBank that values the needs of its customers. The “banking for good” philosophy of doing what’s right for customers, communities and employees will now influence every career move I make. What is the best career advice you have for the next generation of leaders? What would you tell someone just starting out? My best career advice is to provide excellent customer service and always go above and beyond to ensure the customer trusts your professionalism. If you can accomplish both, you will gain a lifelong customer. Considering February is Black History Month, which historical figure/s would you most like to meet and why? The historical figure I would like to meet is Harriet Tubman. She was an abolitionist and social activist during the Civil War. She also served as a scout and spy for the Union Army. Harriet was a war veteran, and I consider her an American Hero. For that reason alone, she deserves my undying admiration and respect. “This page may contain links to external websites.
