FirstBank is ‘giving it forward’ in honor of Arizona Gives Day, April 5-6, 2022.  

Two Valley FirstBank locations hosted a mock customer appreciation event, complete with treats, a prize wheel, and a visit from the Phoenix Suns Gorilla.

Bank visitors were encouraged to spin a prize wheel for a chance to win pens, keychains, and other minor prizes. They were quickly shocked when they realized they were actually receiving gift cards ranging from $150 to $500.

In total, the bank handed out more than $10,000 to Arizonans in hopes lucky recipients would consider “giving it forward” – even if it was just $5 – to their favorite Arizona Gives Day nonprofit.

One couple stated emotionally that the extra funds would help them catch up on an overdue bill, while another said he would use the money to cover a recent rent increase.

Both branch surprises were part of FirstBank’s annual “Give It Forward” event. Launched in 2014, these surprises have included FirstBank executives posing as vet techs to pay for vet bills, pumping free fuel for commuters, and bagging free groceries, all in the name of spreading goodwill and encouraging folks to consider giving it forward by donating to a nonprofit of their choosing on Arizona Gives Day.
