In early March, two FirstBank officers went undercover as “veterinary technicians in training” at VCA Elliot Park Animal Hospital in Tempe, Ariz. Aside from flexing their ability to excel as pet care experts, the FirstBankers were able to surprise VCA’s customers by paying their bills. By the end of the day we were able to cover over $11,000, with visits ranging from vaccinations, to routine checkups, and even long-term care plans that amounted to a year in free visits.

The catch? We only asked the recipients to consider ‘giving it forward’ by donating to their favorite nonprofits on Arizona Gives Day. As an added surprise, Phoenix Suns forward Mikal Bridges joined us to help make the day extra special.
