In its fifth year, Colorado Gives Day has established itself as the largest 24-hour, online fundraising event in Colorado. With more than 1,400 local non-profits to choose from, Colorado has a seemingly unlimited amount of causes to support.

At FirstBank we’re proud to sponsor Colorado Gives Day. This year we partnered with Community First Foundation to create a $1 million Incentive Fund. The Incentive Fund, one of the largest giving-day incentive funds in the country, helps to match donations during Colorado Gives Day, increasing the value of every dollar donated.

In addition to this incentive, FirstBank encouraged Coloradans to Pay It Forward to help out their favorite non-profits. Today, we randomly distributed 200 $25 Visa gift cards throughout downtown Denver to raise awareness for Colorado Gives Day and encourage the community to “pay it forward” to their charity of choice on Tuesday, Dec. 9. By paying it forward, we hope we inspired community members to impact the countless charities they care about most. So whether you’re passionate about education, the arts, animals, health research, or any of the other hundreds of causes, there is no excuse not to donate.

Along with the gift card giveaway, FirstBank teamed up with Purple Door Coffee and Café Options to surprise patrons with free meals and coffee as a fun, unexpected way to brighten up their day. Along with their free meal, patrons were given a card with a simple message asking them to Pay It Forward and donate on Colorado Gives Day.

Last year Colorado donated $20.5 million in 24 hours on Colorado Gives Day. Get online tomorrow and donate. There’s something magical about seeing your fellow Coloradans come together to topple the state’s record for single-day giving year after year, and it’s a trend we’re glad to be a part of.
