At FirstBank, ‘banking for good’ is far more than a tagline. It’s a belief that the composition of the bank goes beyond a bottom line or quarterly figures. Rather, it’s the people – customers, community, and employees – that are the central motivation for every decision.

With that in mind, FirstBank is excited to announce the “$20K Good Business Giveaway” video contest. The contest asks businesses to submit a video demonstrating how they ‘do good’ for their customers, community, or employees. Whether a business is creating environmentally sustainable products, sponsoring employee gym memberships, or making charitable donations, we want to hear your stories.

You’re probably wondering why it’s taken 107 words to get to the good stuff, so here it is. The contest will award a $20,000 cash prize to two grand prize winners. In addition to the cash, FirstBank will work with grand prize winners to promote and feature their business on a variety of online, email, and social channels as part of a larger effort to bring awareness to their organization and help grow their customer-base. Two runners-up will also walk away with $2,500 each.

Here’s how the contest works:

  • For-profit businesses in Colorado and Maricopa County, Ariz., are encouraged to submit a two-minute video via With FirstBank’s tagline of ‘banking for good’ in mind, entrants are asked to demonstrate how they ‘do good.’
  • The bank will accept submissions from Oct. 1- Oct. 28, after which it will select five finalists from each market.
  • After the finalists are identified, a popular vote will determine two grand prize winners and two runners-up. The voting will take place from Nov. 8-15, and is open to anyone with a Facebook login. Rally the troops and direct them to to vote.
  • One winner and one runner-up will be selected from Colorado and Maricopa County, Ariz., and announced on Friday, Nov. 16.

Videos will be judged on the following criteria: 60 percent content, 30 percent creativity, and 10 percent audio/visual quality.
